Jen Roth, SCS Principal PreK-4
Jen Roth is the Shelburne Community School PreK-4 Principal. She has lived most of her life in three states: Illinois, Wisconsin and Vermont. She received her BA from Trinity College of Vermont, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University and her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Saint Michael’s College.
She has taught twenty two years in grades Pre-K through high school Special Education and loves staying hands-on in classrooms. Watching curious learners make new discoveries or share their understanding with others, inspires Jen. This summer, Jen began her next chapter of learning in the Vermont Leadership Institute through the Snelling Center for Government.
As a mother of four children, life stays busy! She fills her time reading, playing in the garden, spending time on the lake and traveling with family and friends.

Brett Cluff, SCS Principal 5-8
Brett is thrilled to be starting his third year as the 5-8 Principal at SCS. A Shelburne resident and graduate of CVSD schools, Brett came to SCS after a year teaching 6th-grade math and science at A.D. Lawton Intermediate School in Essex Junction. Prior to that, he spent 15 years working in the New York City Department of Education, most recently as an Assistant Principal at M.S. 74 in Queens.
Brett’s journey in public education began as a member of Teach for America, teaching 5th grade in the Bronx. His other roles included instructional coaching at the district level and co-leading a teaching residency program. Brett graduated from Middlebury College with master’s degrees from Pace University and Teachers College, Columbia University.
When not at SCS, Brett can usually be found walking around town with some combination of his wife and three kids, helping to fix up their old farmhouse, or pulling weeds in the garden.

Antonia Trono, SCS Director of Special Services
Antonia Trono joined Shelburne Community School’s administrative team in late 2024 and serves as the school’s Director of Special Services. She seeks to foster an inclusive environment where each child’s unique needs and strengths are recognized, supported, and valued.
A longtime CVSD employee, Antonia previously worked as the district’s Consultation Team Director and an Intensive Special Needs Coach. During her time as the Consultation Team Director, she pursued coursework in School Leadership at Saint Michael's College and is on track to receive a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies. She holds an undergraduate degree in English and a Master’s degree in Intensive Special Education, both from the University of Vermont.
Antonia has two children and lives in Charlotte with her husband, Derek. The Trono family lives on Fat Cow Farm, where you can often find them visiting the animals, taking walks, and playing outside with their dog, Mateo. Antonia enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
